Croc Warriors and Zimbabwe Number Two

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you're doing well. It's been a fun week. We worked hard and had a lot of fun with our members as well. And I have a cool new companion.  Maybe I'll start there. My companion's name is Elder Ngulube and he's from Zimbabwe, which is kind of cool because the missionary who trained me is also from Zimbabwe. He just finished his training and Elubo is his second area. I don't know him that well yet but he seems cool. He has a really deep, manly voice that makes me feel like a girl sometimes but he's ready to work hard so it's OK. And he deep cleaned the bathroom today so I think we'll get along.  Also, in reference to the title, I went to the doctor for him to look at my toe. He said it was too smothered by my shoes and the scotch tape I had wrapped around it to heal and that I needed to let it air out so it can get better. He specifically told me to proselyte in my crocs which has been awesome. I was floating around Elubo

Surprise Surgery and Salt of the Earth

Good morning! I hope you're all doing great this morning. This week was simultaneously very eventful and very boring.  Part of the reason it was eventful and the whole reason why it was boring is that I got my ingrown toe nail fixed on Tuesday. Yay! It was an eye (and toe) opening experience to go to the doctor in Ghana. Even though I came on a day when you can't normally schedule surgery,  they were really nice and were able to get the surgeon to come and see me. It took the whole day, but it was a blessing to be able to get it all done in one swoop. It hurt pretty bad that first day, but since then it's been good. We spent the night at the hospital which was also fun. Elder Momoh is a very patient and fun adventure buddy.  So that was the exciting part of the week. The doctor said I should avoid walking on my foot for a few days, so we spent a lot of time in the apartment. It was hard to do nothing, but it was also cool to study and rest small. I realized that if I was go

Good afternoon my friends. I hope you're doing good.  This week I drove fufu for the first time. That was pretty sic. I also got IDed by a soldier for the first time. That was pretty exciting. Don't worry though, I had my card on me.  This week was also Elder Momoh's birthday. He's 22! I was singing Taylor Swift's 22 in my head all day. Elder Momoh was not.  He's a great dude and I'm glad I could be with him on his birthday.  This week we had some cool experiences teaching the restoration. In my interview with President Morgan this week, he asked me what makes me the happiest at this point in my mission. I told him that feeling the Spirit while teaching lessons is what does it. I absolutely love explaining that God has restored his true authority and doctrine to the earth and feeling the Spirit back up what we say. There's nothing right now that brings me more joy than that.  Sunday was also a miracle day. Isaac, Esther, and Frank all came to church! F

Good morning everyone! I hope you're all doing great. This week flew by. I don't really remember what happened, but it was good. This week we had some fantastic lessons with people. I heard in a talk recently from Elder Holland that people are not converted because of what they know, but rather by what they feel. In the past when teaching people that God has restored His true Church and priesthood authority, I focused more on helping them understand it conceptually than anything else. My testimony at the end was kind of an obligatory addition without much power in it. This week I tried to put more effort into actually testifying of what I know to be true, and it was amazing. The Spirit was there so much more than usual and and it felt really good.  We taught a guy named Emmanuel for the second time this week. He's an SDA Sunday school teacher and before the second lesson, he was like, yeah I like what you teach and I'm sure it's nice but you should focus your effo
