Ghana Cape Coast Mission

  This week has been a joy-filled blur. On Wednesday I met up with all my "TCs", or with all the people I came to this mission with. We had dinner and a nice devotional with President and Sister Morgan and then a very long testimony meeting. I was astonished at the love I felt for my brothers as we got up one by one (there was almost 30 of us) and shared what we know to be true. Two years ago, we were strangers. Now, after two years of spiritual experiences and growth, we're brothers. Those relationships are an incredible, unexpected side effect of missionary service.  The next day we went to the temple which was amazing. I loved the new presentation of the endowment. Everything was simple and clear. I'm very excited to go back again and again when I return home. God directed President Nelson and the other leaders of the church to make those changes. It's been weird to know that my days in this mission are numbered, but I've had some experiences that have help

 Good afternoon everybody. This week was really cool. We had some experiences that I feel typify experiences I've had throughout my mission.  The first was a wonderful exchange we had this Tuesday. I was with Elder Alfian, the Liberian legend. We went to Ankwanda and felt prompted to go to a member's house right away. When we get there, the member wasn't around, but I remembered my previous companion telling me that there was an English-speaking sister in a house across the street. We went to that house and met Hannah, a sister who stayed in Liberia for 20 years who lit right up when Elder Alfian mentioned he was Liberian. She's been to church several times in the past and accepted an invitation to be baptized during our lesson.  Many times during my mission, I've felt prompted to do things that I otherwise would not have done. This experience is an example of that. I need all the help I can get; therefore I want to keep following promptings for the rest of my life.

  Good morning everyone! This week was fantastic. We had some ups and downs and trials but overall it was really great. It feels a little bit like we're in a rocketship. Like no matter what happens we just keep jetting.  The week got off to kind of a rocky start. Monday we had a fantastic zone activity where we played football on the beach until a drunk junior league soccer coach made us leave. After that we were waiting to get haircuts and Elder Greer said he didn't feel good. We went home and he slept for like 7 hours. He woke up briefly, called his family and slept the whole night until about 12 the next day. He was super, super sick. Throwing up, runny tummy, everything. I felt really bad for him. He's OK now.  That all goes to say that we didn't do much proselyting on Tuesday and Wednesday. I had a lot of time to study though which I enjoyed. I finally finished the Old Testament on Tuesday! My goal was to finish it before my mission but didn't quite get there.

  Good afternoon everyone! This week was fantastic. And also really wet. The rainy season has officially begun and we've felt it. I don't mind the rain but the mud makes it hard to keep our shirts white. We've had fun though.  This week we had some cool experiences. We were able to start teaching Francis, the husband of a lady named Dorcas we've been teaching which was a miracle. We've been wanting to meet with him for a while and it just worked out. Our first lesson had a rocky start. I ate some bad akyeke right before the lesson and as we were starting we had to excuse ourselves so I could sprint to the nearest public toilet. I can now now say that I've used a Ghanaian public restroom though. Only cost 5 cents and that included a free sheet of newspaper for reading and other purposes. We also had a cool experience on Sunday with one of our members named Joseph. Sunday was pretty slow. Our coordination meeting didn't happen and the people we were planning t
