Baptism (and banku)

So I wrote a really long email that got deleted on accident and I'm out of time but here are pictures! Justina and Sandra were baptized and it was quite possibly the best day of my life. The gospel is true and it works. It changes people. Feed the missionaries!

Banku and Blessings

  This week was wonderful and challenging all at the same time. I've eaten more banku this week then any other week of my life by far. Banku is like the corn part of a tamale except it's in a big ball and you dip it in soup and eat it. It's nice. We paid a member to make us a bunch of it so now we make a big pot of soup and eat it with the banku. When I say we I mean Elder Momoh makes the soup and I chop the onions and microwave the banku. We all have our role in this great work lol.  We had some big miracles this week in our area and companionship this week though. One thing we've struggled with this week is getting people to help us translate what we teach for those who don't speak English. Our branch is pretty small already and the members are all really busy, but our branch president and his wife worked with us twice this week, and we were able to get help from Evelyn as well, a stellar young woman in our branch. You Can't Just Mosey on over to Jesus

  Good morning everyone! The above quote is attributed to Elder Hill, my wonderful and wise companion. I've felt it a whole lot this week.  This week was good and went so fast. We had interviews with President which were so wonderful. President Morgan makes me feel like his friend. He's definitely called of God to lead this mission.  And God apparently told him that the trio needs to be broken up. Sad day! Elder Mposhi and Elder Hill are both going on transfer this Wednesday. I'll be staying in Elmina. I'm so sad that they're going but I know that they'll do amazing wherever they go. Elder Hill was called to be a zone leader which is awesome! He'll do so well at that. And Elder Mposhi will very likely go back to Agona, the place he was before the emergency transfer, so we'll probably still be in the same district. It'll be a great transfer. The work is going well. Wet but Blessed

  Good evening everyone! This week was nice. It started with district council on Tuesday that was super nice. Every week, we meet as a district and report some numbers for things like how many new people we taught, how many people came to church, and so on. We talk about challenges in our areas and celebrate successes and offer solutions and it's all really nice. And we meet every Tuesday morning. I feel like it was really nice this week. We just talked about conference and our experiences and insights and stuff. Our district of 6 powerful elders had a lot of good stuff to say. I really enjoyed it.  I also got to spend a day in our neighbouring elder's areas for exchanges this week. It was fun, but hard! Their area is the rich, rich part of Takoradi where there's mansions and resorts and hotels and not very many people to teach. We had only two lessons the whole day and knocked on a lot of doors.
