Baptisms! And a General Authority

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you're doing well. This is short because we're running a little short on time, but this week was great. Benjamin, Grace, and Anthony were baptized which was great. We were able to eat thanksgiving dinner with an American family in our stake which was so awesome, and Elder Seeley and I were asked if we would be in a TV series about the slave trade (which we had to say no to, but I think that makes me a movie star), and Ama came to our mission devotional which was sic. Also, Elder Kacher who is our area Presidency Councillor came to our zone conference which was awesome. He's an incredible teacher.  Motivation follows effort. I love you all!  Love,  Elder Johnson 1. Pretty views from Ola 2. Anthony  3. Grace 4. Benjamin 5. All three 6. Thanksgiving yeehaw 7. Thanksgiving crew. From left: Elders Seeley, Gabrylck, Clemons

Hello everyone! This week was one of the best weeks of my whole life probably. We had some amazing experiences, and I'm learning so much about the gospel and life and missionary work and the rest. It's been great.  One big highlight this week was stake conference. Our stake split not too long ago, so this was the first Cape Coast Stake conference and wow it was good. I've been here for so long that I know quite a few people around, so it was fun to see all of them. We also had six of the people we're teaching come which was a miracle! Big blessings.  This Sunday we also had a cool experience with Emmanuel, a guy we're teaching. We've been trying to meet with him for awhile, but he's a hard guy to track down. The Brundages, who are the senior couple missionaries here, gave us and the zone leaders a ride back to town in the backseat of their truck (which was kind of a tight fit with four big hefty Americans but we managed), and they dropped us in town outsid

Good morning everybody! This week was really fun, but also sad. The zone leaders had a surprise addition to their companionship on Wednesday, so Elder Tarpeh has been staying with them all week which was fun. He used to be my trainer's companion, so that was a fun little connection. We learned a lot from him in the short time that he was here.  The sad part is that both Elder Freeman and Elder Kearsley are getting transferred, along with literally our entire district. Elder Seeley and I are staying though, thank goodness. I don't want to leave the promised land just yet. It's going to be sad to seeing Elder Freeman and Elder Kearsley go though. I've stayed with Elder Kearsley for two transfers and Elder Freeman one, and I really like both of them. They'll go do great things somewhere else though I'm sure.  As far as the work goes, this week has been blessed! Sunday was awesome. We really wanted to have a lot of people at sacrament meeting, so throughout the week

AC, Moving, and Wedding #2????

Good morning my friends! Thanks for being patient with my sporadic emailing. Last week I didn't get time to write one because we moved. Surprise! I'm still in Cape Coast but we moved to a new apartment because our lease expired. We moved last Monday and they let us know Sunday night. It was a bit of an adventure but we managed. Fridge, mattresses, table, chairs, dressers, everything. It was actually super fun. Brother Bright, the maintenance guy for the mission, was the one in charge and he's a super cool guy. Elder Seeley, the zone leaders, and I moved all the stuff in the house ourselves, and then a bunch of people came to help us move our big water tanks. They were like 500 gallons each and we had to lift them up a 20ish foot wall. It was crazy. At one point it fell down and we almost got squished. There was a bunch of little kids there that we made friends with though so it was cool. See below for pictures. Also, our apartment has AC! This week was also really great th

Moving Apartments

Hyrum, his companion, and the elders who live with them had to move apartments today. The lease was up on their apartment and so they will be temporarily housed in an empty house meant for senior missionaries. He was so excited that it had amenities he has not had such as a washing machine, microwave, oven, and butter knives. With the move, he didn't have time to send an email but an angelic sister in Cape Coast sent me this picture after giving the missionaries bags of food. Here's a picture of our call. We all were able to get on except Morgan!
