Goat Jaws?
Good evening everyone! Some moments from this week:
Baptism dates: Prince and Mimi (two kids we are teaching) accepted baptismal dates for the 18th. Yay! Our friend Jessica is also planning on being baptized on that day. Great times.
Fingers (or the lack thereof): I was using a knife to separate some frozen sausages and I about lost my finger. Fortunately, everything was OK but it still shook me up a little bit. Next time I'll use a cutting board.
Finding (the elect): God helped us have a lot of success finding the elect this week. We had some awesome lessons and have high hopes for some of the people we've found to progress.
Fufu (and ncackra): yesterday was the second time someone we met less than 24 hours before fed us dinner. Regina, whose brother is on a mission in Nigeria right now, let us teach her, came to church, and fed us dinner on Sunday. It was crazy awesome. Also, there were goat jaws+tongues in each bowl. Fun times.
Church: this Sunday was one of the coolest days of my life. We had 6 of our friends come which was awesome, but almost all of our recent converts came too. The gospel is incredible. Watching the Anfoh family wave to us on their way into church made me feel like Ammon, so full of joy that I don't know what to do with myself. God is so good.
Castles and volleyball: today we all went and toured the Cape Coast Castle with Elder Gabrylczk and Elder Anderson. It was so much fun. Afterwards we ate some food and played volleyball, which I'm not good at but it was still fun.
One thing I've loved this week is how much we've used the Book of Mormon. Elder Kacher of the 70 came to us last week and told us to use the Book of Mormon more in our teaching and so we've been trying. There's so much power in looking another Christian in the eyes and telling them that God has more words than just the Bible. The Spirit is there when we read the Book of Mormon.
The gospel is true! Love you all.
Love,
Elder Johnson
