BIG
One kinda big low is that we haven't talked to Francis in a couple of days. Part of that is because we don't have call credit, but he also said he's not ready to make all the changes necessary for baptism, like word of wisdom and law of chastity. He also didn't come to church. However, after some coaxing, he told us we can come tomorrow though so hopefully we can figure out how to help him better.
That kind of shook me up. I was just so sure he was going to be our miracle baptism. The thought of him not being baptized, not wanting to meet with us, etc., kinda wrecked me. It's happened before, many times actually, but it seemed a lot harder this time. It's tough to see people that you care a lot about exercise their agency sometimes. I know it will all be OK though.
There were also some mega big highs though! Sister Bernice wants to be baptized now! We've been working on her since literally our first day here. We extended a baptismal date some days ago, and she said now. Then, the next time we met with her, she brought it up without even being asked and said she wanted to be baptized this Sunday. We were so happy. She's great friends with a member and she's so ready to be baptized. It's gonna be awesome. We might have to push it back a week because she didn't come to church, but I'm confident that the baptism will happen.
Also, our friend Adjua came to church! Again. She's an awesome old lady who has an awesome grandson and they're doing really well. Plus she's so great. She's always so happy to see us.
We also got to sing in our ward choir which was cool. Elder Bukasa loves to sing, and he's been teaching me to love the hymns more. When they asked us to join, we said yes very quickly.
That's all for this week. I love you all.
Love,
Elder Johnson
