Why Not?

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great week. It was a good week. We had a good lesson with Daniel, who is progressing pretty well, and we were even able to have Romeo, one of our great members, there for the lesson. We taught about baptism and priesthood and asked Daniel if he would be baptized. He said, "Why not?" Yay! However, when we tried to pick a specific date, he wasn't able to decide, and he had to travel so he couldn't make it to our next appointment so we haven't really talked to him about it since then. Hopefully he'll be back soon and we can nail down a date. I really like him a lot. He's a good guy. Pray for Daniel!

This week we also had exchanges with Elder Hadfield, our district leader. It was fun. I was in their area, called Anaji, with Elder Jenkins, who is Elder Hadfield's companion. We had a good time. Elder Jenkins is a really great elder. He started his mission in Texas because of a visa issue so he's only been here for 3 weeks but he's doing great. I enjoyed getting to spend the day with him. We also got back pretty late so we ended up spending a second night at their apartment before coming home.

Things with Elder Bukasa are awesome. I love that man so much. I feel like his real personality is coming through as he is learning more English and it's really fun to continue to get to know him. He's so down to work and serve and he's also incredible with directions, which is nice because I'm really bad at that. And I feel like the longer I'm here the worse I get. However, I have longer legs than my companion so I'm usually in front but I don't know how to get where we're going most of the time so it's an interesting combination. It's been working well though. He's a great guy.

And I love Elder Clemons and Elder Eke-Udonsi, the elders we stay with. They're really cool. We played monopoly yesterday (I won ðŸ’ª) and I was thinking about how grateful I am to be with them. There's some really high-quality people in this mission, with and without tags.

There's a lot of people that we're teaching that I just love but that aren't really progressing. We have high hopes for some of our people though. Our buddy John who was a referral from Facebook said that he'd come to church next Sunday, and there's one lady we're teaching named Vida who also said she wants to come. Things have been kind of slow, but we're trying our best. I know things will start to pick up if it's God's will.

I love you all! Have a great week.
