The Process of Growth

Good evening everybody! I hope you're all doing good. This was a great week. I learned a lot about missionary work and life this week. It started with zone council on Tuesday. It was super nice. Our zone leaders are powerful. Elder Bukasa and I also gave a training on following up that I think went really well. It was fun to prepare for and give. We first did a role play on how not to follow up where we took away the person's pamphlet and stormed off and then one in the correct way to follow up. It was fun. We also both felt that we need to work with members more.  We also started teaching David and James, two boys whose parents are returning members, and it's been going super well. They're both super open to the gospel and are down to learn. After each lesson we give them a page to read in the pamphlet to read before next time and James, the younger of the two, has read every place we've given him. Tonight we taught them after giving them the page about how p

Good morning everyone! I learned a lot this week. Things are good, but I've been a little bit frustrated with the lack of progress we've been seeing. However, I feel that trying to do my best despite being frustrated and unmotivated has brought me closer to God than I was before. We had some hard times this week, but also some great ones.  One of the great ones was zone conference! We had zone conference on Thursday and it was wonderful. President Morrison, the leader of our mission, is called by God. He's also leaving us at the end of June, so we'll be getting a new mission president! We were all pretty sure that he'd be going because he was called as a general authority 70 at general conference, but we will still miss him a lot. Our new mission president will start in July, and I'm sure he'll also be great.  That day we also had an awesome experience. As we were leaving zone conference, we parted ways with some other missionaries in our zone. As we were

Good evening everyone! This week was nice. It started with district council on Tuesday that was super nice. Every week, we meet as a district and report some numbers for things like how many new people we taught, how many people came to church, and so on. We talk about challenges in our areas and celebrate successes and offer solutions and it's all really nice. And we meet every Tuesday morning. I feel like it was really nice this week. We just talked about conference and our experiences and insights and stuff. Our district of 6 powerful elders had a lot of good stuff to say. I really enjoyed it.  I also got to spend a day in our neighbouring elder's areas for exchanges this week. It was fun, but hard! Their area is the rich, rich part of Takoradi where there's mansions and resorts and hotels and not very many people to teach. We had only two lessons the whole day and knocked on a lot of doors. I'm sure that's what it's like for missionaries in America, but I&

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great week and got a chance to watch general conference. We were able to watch, and our friend Mary came and watched a session with us as well. It was great. We invited a lot of other people to come and watch with us, but no one else could. Godfred said he watched a session at his house on TV though so hopefully that was a good experience for him. He's been very skeptical of a modern-day prophet since we told him about President Nelson, but I think seeing him in action would allay some of his concerns. We'll see how it goes.  Big bombshell surprise though: my mission president, who is Isaac K. Morrison who you undoubtedly saw at conference, up and went to Utah without telling us and got called as General Authority Seventy the other day! We were all shocked but also happy for him. Idk if they'll release him or he'll finish here or what, but either way he's a general authority. It was cool to see.  We ended up just watchin
