9 A.M. Miracles
Good evening everybody! This week was so great. We had some amazing things happen that I'm excited to talk about here.
Wednesday we had zone conference and MY GOODNESS it was wonderful. President Morgan is inspired of God. I have such a testimony that he is the man who is supposed to lead this mission right now.
He's just been watching and stuff since he came but now he's making changes. The main thing he did was change our schedule so that instead of leaving at 11:30 and getting back at 7:30 we leave at 9 and get back at 6:30. We do most our studies in the evening now which is new.
This might not seem like a huge changes to all of you, but this announcement kinda rocked our mission. It's going to give us so much more time in our areas and help us be more productive.
I'm so excited about it and I know it will work. It's been a little tough to adjust to but we've had so many miracles. Here are some of them:
Enoch is doing so well! He said we shouldn't come teach him till next week, but then on Tuesday he called us to come! It was so cool. He's so ready and wants to get baptized. It turns out the reason his grandma told the missionaries to wait to teach him is because she didn't want him to feel forced or pressured to join the church. Like just because he moved into a member house he has to become a member type of thing. But he's doing well and we're planning to put him on date for the 9th of next month!
Also, we put Blessing on date for next Sunday! Exciting stuff. She's so precious and is doing so well. Her family is incredible too. Sarah, her mother, was baptized two months ago and is the most enthusiastic missionary and member I've ever known. She invited her friend Mercy to learn with some other missionaries in our Zone and Mercy also got baptized a few weeks ago! It's so cool to see how enthusiastically living the gospel makes other people want to enthusiastically live the gospel.
One thing I've thought a lot about this week is the gathering of Israel. I feel like the Spirit has been trying to teach me about that lately. I recently read 1 Nephi 14:1-3, which explains that if Gentiles (people not genetically a part of the house of Israel) repent and "harden not their hearts against the Lamb of God," they become part of the house of Israel. Like basically if you repent and make covenants with God, you become part of the house of Israel. So basically I'm a full time Israel gatherer. I really love that.
And I love that we can all be part of it. The gospel is for everyone no matter who they are. God doesn't have a group of His children He loves more than any other group. His promises and blessings are for anyone who wants to follow Him. And I love being a part of it! It's the best experience of my life so far.
Love,
Elder Johnson
