Elder Mposhi the Great

Good evening everyone. This week was fun. We had a lot of bike problems and some disappointments, but the good outnumbered the bad. And I learned some new things.

The first thing is that we are now in a trio! Elder Mposhi came to join us last Monday and we've been enjoying ever since. He's an awesome Elder with a great testimony, personality, smile, and sense of humor. He's also 5' 2", so we've decided to that he's Elder Valley. I'm Elder Mound, and Elder Hill is Elder Hill. Fun times.

We've enjoyed though. The work is going. One small setback that we've experienced is that Evelyn didn't get baptized this week. We were on our way there for her interview and we called her to make sure she was ready and she texted us and said that she was sorry but she's not ready to make that covenant now. We haven't heard from her since. When we taught her everything she seemed ready and accepted everything excitedly but then this happened. So keep her in your prayers.

We've been seeing success though. Our friend Helena and her daughter came to church for the 4th time and are progressing towards baptism. Our ward has been helping us a lot as well. In zone conference we learned about the importance of working with members and ward leaders and then that very night we had ward council and on Sunday had our ward coordination meeting! It was really cool to put the pieces together like that. And our ward is awesome! So many capable, committed members and leaders. I really love it here.

The big miracle of the week is that Alfred, someone I taught in my previous area, got baptized on Friday! I am so happy I could witness his conversion. He sought us out and accepted everything right away. He was just ready! And he'll help that branch so much. Doctrine and Covenants 29:7 "And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts." Those who want to follow God's word will hear it, whether in this life or the next. It's an incredible opportunity to be a part of that work. I'm so happy for Alfred and his family. I want everyone to experience the joy he's coming to experience. Pray for Evelyn!
Love,
Elder Johnson
