Good-byes and Gratitude

Image
Good evening! I hope you all had a great week. Mine was good. We had some great moments. I'm going on transfer! That was pretty crazy. I'll miss Praso and the people inside it but I'm excited for something new.  On Wednesday we had zone council and interviews with President and Sister Morgan. It was our first in person interviews with them and they were so, so nice. They're where they're supposed to be.  We were also able to teach Brother Agyemang this week and re-extend his baptismal date to this Sunday. He was supposed to be baptized yesterday but we weren't able to meet him all week. He's still down to make covenants though and is so, so peaceful about it. In Alma 32:16 it says, "blessed is he that believeth in the word of God, and is baptized without stubbornness of heart, yea, without being brought to know the word, or even compelled to know, before they will believe." Brother Agyemang has asked a lot of questions, but has always been quick

Bad Analogies and the Atlantic

Hey everyone! I sure love and miss you all. This week was kind of like eating candy corn-- not your favourite thing ever but you just keep on eating because it's nicer than not eating. And before you realize it the bag is gone and you've eaten it all!  That's what this week felt like. We had some great moments and some rougher moments but we never stopped moving. We finished the bag/week, and we're ready for another one.  Anyways, I have more to share than bad analogies. This week had some really sweet moments in it. I learned some things this week that I would like to share.  The first is that God is aware of us and gives us what we need exactly when we need it.  I learned this in many different ways this week. On Wednesday we had an exchange with the APs so we traveled to Cape Coast. On the tro ride there I was feeling so, so down. I was just thinking too much and didn't have anything to do and was feeling sorry for myself. I prayed in that moment to feel happy.

Mississippi Mission President and Motorcycle Mayhem

Good evening everyone! There was a lot that happened this week. I got to meet and hug my new mission president, have a wonderful exchange, and teach some wonderful people.  Tuesday we our first zone conference with President and Sister Morgan. It was really nice. I learned a lot and we got to know them both better. They talked a lot about their lives, where they're from (which is Mississippi. See title), their families, and how they came to be called as mission leaders. I really received a witness that they're the ones who are supposed to be leading this mission, which felt good.  They've got a lot to do but God is on their side.  The rest of the week was really busy. Friday we had an exchange. I was with Elder Asempapa, a Ghanaian who is about to finish his mission. He's an awesome guy. We had some crazy times on the exchange. That is when the motorcycle mayhem comes in, as well as one of the wonderful lessons. We went to Ntiamoah, a small village we cover that has a g

Gari Soakings and Gatorade

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great week.  In reference to the title, we weren't too responsible with our food money this week and kind of ran out of everything with a few days to go. There's a food called gari, which is cassava pounded into tiny pieces that's almost like flour that we've eating a lot of, because it's super cheap. You just add water, sugar, groundnuts, and milk powder to it and it's really good. Almost like cereal and milk. My mom also sent me some Gatorade powder as well so I've been enjoying G atorade with my gari. It's been fun.  So like I said earlier, we said goodbye to President Morrison on Thursday. I will miss that man. President and Sister Morgan seem so great though. We had MLC over zoom on Saturday and we were able to ask him a lot of questions and figure some stuff out. It's gonna be a good year. President Morgan seems very spiritual and soft spoken and his testimony was powerful. Sister Morgan seems really
