Good morning everyone! This week was exciting. We had two great exchanges and some awesome lessons and were able to meet with our Bishop at his home which was a miracle! We also had an awesome lesson with a lady named Mary referred to us by an awesome member family that we're really excited about.  One of our exchanges was with the Chapel Hill Elders and one with the Sekondi Elders. It was a really great experience. An exchange is just where you switch companions with another companionship for the day and learn from each other. I was with Elder Jabati from Sierra Leone for one and Elder James from Nigeria for the other. We had some great lessons, especially when I was with Elder James. We talked a lot about baptism with Pamela and Emmanuel who both have not been baptized before and now both see that they need to. The Spirit was really there in both lessons.  We've had a lot of opportunities to teach about the Book of Mormon lately as well, which I've loved. At the beginni

Two General Authorities, Eight Holes of Golf, and One Baptism

Good morning everyone! This was such a great week. We had some great exchanges, a meeting with two awesome leaders and their wives, a beautiful baptism, AND I just got done playing 8.5 holes of golf with some Elders in our Zone. It's been a great week.  First things first: our whole mission got together and got to be taught by Elders Nielson and Palmer of the 70 and their wives. It was so, so great. They didn't prepare anything: we just talked and they shared as the Spirit directed them. It was so, so cool. I loved how even though they were very different from each other, they were still able to serve the Lord effectively and teach us.  We also had a baptism this week! It was so great. Gladys was so ready and her family was able to come as well and witness it and it was so beautiful. Life is good. I played golf today. It was also really fun even though I was bad at it. I love you all and the church is true!  Love,  Elder Johnson

BAPTISM!

Good morning everyone. First of all SYLVIA GOT BAPTIZED! That was the best part of the week for sure. We had some challenges getting everything taught, but no unhallowed hand can stop this work from progressing and we were able to finish everything before the baptism yesterday! Our main issue was that Sylvia doesn't speak or understand English and is from the Northern part of Ghana so she doesn't speak Fante either, which is what everyone speaks here. Her grandma Doris is the one who translates for us and she does a great job but she was sick all week. We were really worried about that all working out, but luckily the gift of tongues is real and God loves us because her Grandpa was able to help us finish everything up in Fante and she was able to understand and respond! It was miraculous.  What was even cooler is that Douglas, the grandpa who helped us finish everything, was the one to baptize her. He had some hesitations about it but he did it and it was so sweet. And her uncl

Good everyone! I hope you're doing good. This week was great. It started with an awesome zone conference with President and Sister Morgan. It was so great. I love how interactive they are and how they teach as a team. We learned a lot about being united with our companions and the importance of teaching with the Spirit.  I've also eaten more pizza this week than any other week of my mission. Living in the city is such a blessing.  We've also had some great experiences this week with people we're teaching as well. One of our buddies that we're teaching named Philip came to church which was such a surprise! His son is a member, and we've been teaching him, but this whole week he was kinda dodging us but Sunday he came! He only went to sacrament meeting but it was so great.  We're also hopefully going to have a baptism for Sylvia this week. Sylvia is a 14-year-old girl whose grandparents are members. She doesn't speak English, but her grandma translates a

Good evening everyone! This will be a short email because my time is going but this week has been incredible. Here's what happened: First of all, Brother Agyemang got baptized yesterday! Because of the transfer, I wasn't able to be there for the baptism, but it happened. I've attached a picture of it. I'm so happy for Brother Agyemang. Like I said last week, Alma 32:16 perfectly covers him. He "believed in the word of God" and  "was baptized without stubbornness of heart."  In other news, I went on transfer! I said a lot of goodbyes on Sunday and Monday and then went to transfers on Wednesday. I'm back in Takoradi! I was so surprised and happy. I served in this same zone from January to May and now I'm back! It's a new area but I know a lot of people here already and I'm so happy to be back. Our apartment is so fun too. My new companion is Elder Liljenquist, who I came here with and who I already really like and we're with Elder S
