Ankwanda and Agency

Image
Good evening everybody! I hope you're all doing good. It's been a great week. We've had some interesting experiences and fun times this week.  One exciting thing that happened this week is we went to Ankwanda, a village in our area, for the first time. It was an interesting experience. It's a BEAUTIFUL little beach town surrounded by pineapple fields. I didn't see many pretty beaches or growing pineapples in Wells so I enjoyed it a lot. The work is interesting there as well. There used to be 4 missionaries in Elmina: two for Elmina and two for Ankwanda. There was also always a Ghanaian in Ankwanda because most people don't speak English there. However, a few months ago we downsized to one companionship and no one has been to Ankwanda for a few months. There's 14 new members there though so we decided to go visit them. It was actually so cool. The first person we met could speak English and allowed us to teach her. Her name is Gloria and she's the niece o

Elder Mposhi the Great

Good evening everyone. This week was fun. We had a lot of bike problems and some disappointments, but the good outnumbered the bad. And I learned some new things.  The first thing is that we are now in a trio! Elder Mposhi came to join us last Monday and we've been enjoying ever since. He's an awesome Elder with a great testimony, personality, smile, and sense of humor. He's also 5' 2", so we've decided to that he's Elder Valley. I'm Elder Mound, and Elder Hill is Elder Hill. Fun times.  We've enjoyed though. The work is going. One small setback that we've experienced is that Evelyn didn't get baptized this week. We were on our way there for her interview and we called her to make sure she was ready and she texted us and said that she was sorry but she's not ready to make that covenant now. We haven't heard from her since. When we taught her everything she seemed ready and accepted everything excitedly but then this happened. So keep

Hill and Mound

Good evening everybody! We're gonna depart from the usual format for this week's email. I often am conflicted about what to title my emails because I have a lot of different ideas so this week I'm just going to give you my different ideas and explain them.  Hill and Mound-  so I went on transfer and I'm now in a place called Elmina. It's a super dope little fishing town near Cape Coast, where I started my mission. My companion is Elder Hill from Twin Falls, Idaho. He's 6'7" and an awesome elder. He's been helping me a lot and we've had a lot of fun. People joke about his name and height (you're a pretty tall hill, big like a hill, etc.) which is normal and healthy. We were searching for a geographical feature smaller than a hill but larger than just flat ground and settled on mound. So he's a hill and I'm a mound.  Big Bad Biker Boys-  Elmina is surrounded by small villages that we bike to. It's been super different but fun to ex

Exchanges and Changes

Good afternoon everyone. This was an interesting week. And we got to hear from God's true prophet which was incredible. We very often teach about prophets. We testify of true prophets and warn about false ones. In our mission we all have a little laminated picture of President Nelson that we use to teach about him and about continuing revelation and this week I used it a lot. It was so fun to teach about true prophets and testify of the prophet, Russel M. Nelson and then be able to add that he's going to talk to the world this week. Unfortunately, not all of the people we're teaching were as excited about it as me but we did have two people we're teaching watch a session which was great. And we ourselves of course enjoyed it a lot. We haven't finished everything because of the time difference but we will.  As the title suggests, this week had some exchanges in it. I'll start there. I went on exchange with Elder Kankonde, a wonderful elder from the Democratic R
