Adequacy and Birthday Cake

Image
Hello my friends! I hope everyone had a good week. Our own was awesome.  It started out on Tuesday with Elder seeley's birthday. I bought him a cake from this lady we are teaching who makes cakes that actually ended up being pretty fire. We almost burnt the house down trying to light the candles (which were a roman candle and some dry spaghetti noodles) but it turned out OK. We enjoyed.  Also, our power went out so we made pancakes. It was pretty fun. See below for evidence.  We've had some really awesome lessons this week. We're getting better at teaching together and Elder Seeley is killing it. I'm so blessed. I was really worried about getting someone who wants to be lazy or disobedient but Elder Seeley wants to work and is such a cool guy. We have a lot of fun and we freaking WORK. I've been so tired this week, but it's been worth it. We're getting better at balancing everything and not forgetting about people and stuff.  Finding has been so blessed. W

Powerful Baptisms...and also Cheeseburgers

Hello my friends! This email will not be long but hopefully it will be good. We'll see how it goes.  This week was awesome. I loved every second of it. Elder Seeley loves working hard and is an incredible companion. We've had some awesome lessons and also a ton of fun. This Saturday, Justice and Elizabeth were baptized. I'm so proud of them both. We've been teaching Justice for a long, long time and seeing him change as he has come closer to Christ has been the best thing ever. He's such a cool guy. He and his friend have a business where they sell phone cases and chargers and stuff right next to a busy road and every one of our lessons was behind his stand. Despite all the distractions and noise and wahala, he gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the restoration and was baptized. It was so cool to witness. Elizabeth is going to be an incredible Relief Society President one day. Every Sunday she brings herself, her 3 nieces and nephews, and her younger bro

Big Boy Time

Hello my friends! It's been an awesome week. So much has happened since the last time I did this. I'll just get right into it.  Tuesday was my last full day with Elder Komiha, my incredible trainer. It's weird how you spend literally all your time within sight and sound of someone and share life-changing spiritual experiences with them and then all of a sudden you just say bye. I've learned so much from him and I'm glad I got to spend some time with him.  Also, on Tuesday I got "soaked". Our mission has this weird culture thing where you get a bunch of water dumped on you when you finish your training. I wasn't super enthused about it and ran away, but I still got pretty wet. See below for pictures.  Wednesday was TRANSFERS. I tried to act cool about everything but I was super nervous. I had no idea what to expect. We had a trainers and trainee meeting before the transfer meeting and I was sure to be extra nice to all the new missionaries because any

Transfers and Big Thoughts

Hello my friends! This week was really good. We planned some fire activities and stuff that went really well. We just came from the 1st inaugural Cape Coast combined YSA FHE, and it was a smashing success, thanks to a lot of help from the Lord. Elder Komiha and I are really good at things like eating and trying our best, but planning things far in advance is something we're still working on. It's OK though, because things worked out. We ended up having a solid group of YSA and Paul (our incredible ward missionary) brought a non-member friend who wants to learn more! And we have some leftover cookies from the refreshments we brought so we are blessed.  We also tried organizing a conference-watching extravaganza this weekend because many people don't have access to conference, but couldn't get a key because our Bishop was out of town. Luckily, the ward one Elders were able to get one and we combined with them to watch conference at the Chapel. Because of the time change
